    Main Description

It is essential for a Service Engagement team to build an independent strong identity and spirit of their own as quickly as possible, and to make sure collaboration among interfacing teams is as effective as possible. By devising various informal gatherings for the whole team to attend and by ensuring all the team members get acquainted and understand the criticality of their collaboration, the team should collectively work together as a very cohesive group.

For integrated teams, where the Service Engagement team is formed of resources that have been brought together from a number of different and distributed sources, such as Capgemini and other third-party suppliers, building and maintaining the team identity and spirit is even more important. It is often the case that each company will have its own organizational and cultural ways of working, so overcoming these differences and developing a process that works for the Service Engagement and is fully supported by all teams and team members, is invariably one of the key factors that determines how successful a Service Engagement is.

Team-building exercises can vary from a social gathering for a drink or meal outside of work, to a five-minute agenda item in a regular status review meeting to an extended, off-site, professionally facilitated experience designed to improve interpersonal relationships among key stakeholders.
